About the Rotary Club of Victoria

Serving Seychelles with Hope, Peace, and Community Spirit Since 1969.

Our History

The Rotary Club of Victoria was chartered on 27th June 1969 at the Hotel des Seychelles in Beau Vallon. Founded by a group of visionary businessmen, including Mr. Hans Anderson, Mr. Harry Peters, and Mr. Norman Esselmont, the club was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Mombasa.

With 25 members at its inception, the club was officially inaugurated by Sir Bruce Greatbatch, the Governor of Seychelles at the time. Over the past 55 years, the Rotary Club of Victoria has grown into a cornerstone of community service in Seychelles, undertaking impactful projects in education, health, and environmental conservation.
