What a meaningful Saturday we had! On August 30th, 2025, we gathered at STC Hypermarket for our fundraising lottery draw. While it may have been an intimate gathering, the warmth and genuine support from those who joined us made it truly special.
A Labor of Love
Our dedicated Rotarians arrived early in the afternoon to set up and connect with community members, sharing stories about our projects while selling tickets throughout the day. The official draw took place from 5 to 6 PM, and though our group was small, the atmosphere was filled with genuine excitement and camaraderie.
Our grand prize, a stunning Toyota Corolla Cross, certainly captured everyone’s attention, alongside 18 other fantastic prizes including relaxing hotel stays, useful electronics, and valuable cash vouchers. But honestly, the real prize was witnessing our community come together in support of a common cause.
The Magic of Community Participation
One of our favorite moments came when we invited children to help with the draw. Watching these young community members, blindfolded with big smiles on their faces, carefully select the winning balls from our lottery drum was pure joy. Their innocent excitement and the crowd’s enthusiastic cheers created such a heartwarming atmosphere – it perfectly captured what community spirit is all about.
Our talented local DJ kept the energy up during the draw itself, while our dedicated Rotarians, who had been there throughout the afternoon setting up and engaging with visitors, ensured everything ran smoothly. The personal connections we made with each ticket purchaser throughout the day reminded us why we do this work – it’s about the relationships, not just the numbers.
Heartfelt Thanks
We’re deeply grateful for every person who supported us – whether by purchasing tickets during our afternoon at the hypermarket, volunteering their time, or joining us for the 5-6 PM draw. While our gathering may have been intimate in size, the impact of your support will reach far and wide across our community.
